2013
What a year this has been! All of my life’s dreams and goals
seem to be happening THIS year! My year of “Simplicity!” Interesting how most
people wouldn’t consider getting engaged, married, having a baby and publishing
a book all in one year, “SIMPLE!”
The year started with an engagement to a man I feel so
incredibly lucky to love! His name, Osama Aldoubal, or otherwise known as Sam.
We had a very short engagement as we decided to wed during my parents visit to
the UAE. On April 4, 2013, our lives changed
forever. We were married within the Judicial System in Abu Dhabi. We had hoped
to have a 2nd wedding ceremony with family and friends in the USA,
but FATE had its way and we are expecting our first child December 25, 2013!
In the midst of all this excitement of getting married,
having a baby, planning our future in the USA (hopefully), I have also
published the first of what hopefully will be many books in my series “Booma
and Friends”. Booma in the Sea is the first book in an educational
series for children ages 6-8. It’s about an owl named Booma that goes on
extraordinary adventures in his sleep and learns a lesson in each one of his
dreams. He tells his forest friends the lessons in his dreams as they surround
him each and every night to listen to his amazing stories. Each story has an
educational focus so teachers and parents can support reading comprehension
skills with their young readers.
Booma's ultimate dream would be to brand “Booma and Friends” into
an entire series for children, e-books, educational games, cartoon series,
… so, we’ll wait and see if Booma’s
dreams really DO come true!
IN the meantime, all of MY dreams are coming true in 2013
and I couldn’t feel more blessed with my life. I’m married to a fantastic man,
excited for the future of our upcoming baby, feeling blessed with loving and
supportive family and friends and hopeful for the newest member in the cartoon
family, Booma the Owl!
